ARGHH! What the heck am I missing!

I have a 99 Ford F-150 5.4L Triton with 174K that's slowly snowballing. My heater core exploded which cost me over $1000 to fix and since then my engine light's on, I smell raw gas pouring out some where and it misfires. I've changed my spark plugs, and checked for wetness from the coils but found none. I've changed my fuel injectors (from a junk yard) they're all ticking but my engine light is still telling me misfire in cylinder 4. I'm trying to avoid the mechanic since I still owe from the last time but I'm pulling my hair out and feel like I'm working backwards. Is there something I missed? I love my truck and my manual is my bible but I'm afraid this goes deeper than what I can do. Can someone please help? Any ideas or maybe someone who's been through the same thing? Thanks

I think they only answer you if you donate so the answer to my problem is I'm going to get a diagnostics test tomorrow for 40 bucks. I'm on a mission.

If you go to autozone, they will generally read the PCM for you for free.

Most all the men and women here volunteer their spare time and knowledge and have a hard time keeping on top of all the posts, donations or not.

You say you smell raw gas, is this a constant condition? Check your fuel pressure at the rail with a mechanical guage. It should be about 30-40psi at idle and no more than 50psi at high engine loads. Low fuel pressure due to a leak could be a cause for misfiring. Let us know.
