I have a 1999 Ford F150 4.2 with 168000 miles. The truck has been well maintained, regular tune ups ect. Problem is: check engine light is on, loss of power, slight skip both at idle and driving, using alot of gas. Had friend put it on his code reader, he said it showed a faulty ambient air temp. Sensor. What is this and what does it do? As far as I've been able to find, there's not supposed to be one on it! Any info? Could this be the problem?
