A/C blows air out of defrost vents only

Ford, F-150, 2001, 74,000, and 5.4L.
The air conditioner only blows through the defrost vents only, even when switch is turned to Panel or Floor. If it's stuck were do I use a hammer to un-stick it? ;)

there is a part that operates off of vacuum located under the dash that controls the panel that changes the direction of the venting. It is either a malfunction with this or you have a vacuum leak. I have seen a few times when a vacuum line under the hood towards the cabin of the truck gets broken and causes this.
