When I press the break peddle on my 2006 F 150, within the first 1/6th of an inch, it makes a clicking sound. The truck is over warrenty by two weeks. My local dealer says that he can replace the parts for $170.00, but will not guarante that it will help the problem. This truck has the button to move the peddles up and down. Is there a quick fix like a piece of carpet in the right place? It drives me crazy.

Does it sound like metal to metal or like an electrical contact? If metalic, try checking for the plastic insulator that goes on the stub shaft on the pedal arm. Or put a small amount of grease on the pivot points.
