I have a Ford F150 that just stopped running while driving down the highway. I replaced the fuel filter thinking it may be a fuel issue, since the spark plugs have a strong spark. When the filter was removed, the line was pressured up, and gas squirted out. After replacing the filter, I attempted to bleed the air from the line using the valve in the injector fuel line. I would turn on the key, hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds and stop. This was while I had the valve opened. I would only get a small squirt of air, and little gas. I did this numerous times. I disconnecte the line from the rear end of the filter, and turned on the key. I expect the pump to run continiuously and squirt gas. However, it would only run for a few seconds and only pump out a few drops of gas. The pump was changed six months ago. Shouldn't it keep running until the system is fully pressurized?
