I had the exact same problem with my 2001 F-150. I scanned it and found no error codes so I started getting quotes for a transmission repair. I then hooked up my code reader and actually drove the truck for about 15min while making it do the jerking. Finally it showed a code that my #1 coil was bad. I think this is probably your problem. Now you just need to find someone to let you use their code reader while you drive it around for a bit. Hope this helps.
