2001 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive

I have an auto transmission. I parked my truck came out a couple hrs later to leave, started it went to put it in reverse and it would not come out of park. The steering wheel is not locked. If I turn the engine off but leave the key turned to the prestart position I can move the shifter into any position. In nuetural I can start it and move the shifter, drive the truck as normal. But when the key is on the engine is started it will not come out of park. What could cause this? It seems that at the same time my 4 wheel drive stopped working the dash light showing the 4 wheel drive engaged is not even coming on, nor will my power windows work. If this is fuse realted what fuse should I be looking at? I do not have the owner manual as I bought the truck used. If it is not a fuse what else might be causing the problem?

Hello.
Thanks for the donation.

Check to see if the brake lights are working - brake lights and shift interlock are the same circuit. If brake lights are not working check the fuse or the alignment and operation of the stop light switch (located at brake pedal).

Post your results and I will follow up.

Hope this helps.

The brake lights work. I have also found some other things that are not working though. The interior lights do not work including the under hood light and glove box light. The dash lights do work. The power windows do not work, but the power locks do work. The wipers do not work and the 4 wheel drive does not work. I replaced the relay and there was no change.
