Electrical problem
2000 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I changed the oil in my truck and took the positive cable off the battery to clean as was correded. when i put the cable back on and finished with the oil the truck would not crank. so i charged the battery and checked all connections and i have a battery charger that has and engine start on it. the motor started but will not stay running now. i checked all the fuses. it shows that there is a fuseable link on the positive cable but there is no fuse there at all. i have totally removed the battery and charged it and re installed and the truck would not turn over with out the assistance of my battery charger.

A fuseable link looks like a regular wire, but is designed to burn out if there is too much power going through it. As far as the no start, based on your description, it sounds like the battery is dead since it only starts with the charger. Have you load tested the battery? Does the starter click or anything when trying to start only with the battery?
