Hi I have been having a problem with my truck. It drives fine except when I accelerate to pass or go up a hill, The battery light flashes on the RPM's go higher about 4000 and the truck loses power by this I mean it loses acceleration. It feels like it is going to die and sputters a few times. It has never actually died until tonight. Tonight the lights dimmed and the battery light came on. It does not seem to matter how long it has been driven for. It also happened on a flat road when I went to pass another vehicle If I accelerate VERY slowly and steadily it seems to do ok.
Could this be the alternator. My friend says the caytilitic converter I could be wrong but that doesn't seemt o fit with the other posts I have read here. Thanks so much in advance
