Engine Cooling problem
1999 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Ive been trying for 3weeks now to get a aluminum tube into the top of my engine block that connects to a hose leading to the heater core. If our looking at the engine, it's on the upper left side of the engine (closer to the rear which makes it hard to use tools). To get the old piece out we had to break it. Nothings wrong with the hole, we didn't damage it in any way but I still can't seem to get the noew one in. Please help me.

I do not know your rig.....I do have an EXPLORER MANUAL (daughters...6 cyl).....No good pics in it.

I do understand tight places!

This "TUBE", is it threaded?

If so, maybe Taper the 1st--2 or 3 threads with a file?

As far as "Turning" it what about a heater hose/ clear hose/ limber hose/ springthat will slip over it and you turn that item.......just to start it?

When I was restoring My '46 Willys Jeep (actually basically starting from scratch with a bad situaton)

I got to the point of installing the shift fork into the bellhousing.......hard place to hook onto the throwout bearing

I dropped the darn thing.....I tried to reach it, a magnet, hooks...........I did not want to pull the tranny, transfer case, and bellhousing.....to get it.

After HOURS.....Desperate

I saw one other option, she had been "HELPING" all along..........my 5 year old daughter, reached her little hand in..........and retrieved it 5 more times....before I tied a string to it.

Would that option work for you?........NO! NO! she's 21 now......You will have to find your own!
