okay i recently got this truck at a wicked deal. it acts like its got a bit of a miss when doing 50-70 up a hill when you are in like 4th gear i believe, almost like its tring to switch to 3rd but wont or somthing. or its missing not sure. i did an injection service fuel filter plugs wires tried changing group coils. and when you are stopped and go to get on the gas its like somthing is hitting really hard. like if you have somthing heavy in your box and it slides to the back of the truck and hits kind of a feeling. does it most times not always. is that the trans? i did a flush and filter in it aswell. i am running out of ideas for everything. i am not sure anymore if its missing or if its transmission. please help

Hi there,

This could well be a transmission problem, i would get a transmission specialist to test and report on this for you as you really need to test drive this to help make a diagnosis.

alright thank you. i was kinda figuring that considering after i took the trans pan off it was just black crap every where the magnet was just covered and teh fluid was definetly no better. would it matter if the vehicle had a bit of a miss say like at an idle or while in gear when its up to temp at a stop light. its not really a miss just a bit ya know kinda random shake ya can feel inyour seat. like a miss. i dunno hard to describe

Hi there,

You will need to get the engine tune sorted after the transmission is repaired, if it is as bad i you describe, it will be slipping badly, and this can sometime feel as if it is an engine problem as well.

so the transmission guy doesnt think its the tranny. hethinks its an engine miss which it does feel like. he said the tranny shifts hard but i guess that is how those tranny are in those trucks he said. i am outta ideas on the engine miss now. i asked around and they were saying maybe crank sensor or cam sensor or a computer problem. and the clunk when i got on the gas turned out to be a u joint . so thats all good now. i just dont know what else to check on with the engine. not much of a newer vehicle guy lol give me an old chevy and i fix it :P

Did you get a scan done as you don't always get a fault light showing with a fault code set.
