Just got done putting in a replacement salvage transmission. However the truck seems to be having a problem accelerating still. Engine wants to cut at times, but the transmisison is no longer slipping like the one we replaced. There is a shaking that is present while driving. I can get the truck running up to 50 with rpms in the 3000's so I think the transmission is working I am wondering what else could cause the inability of acceleration stemming from a replacement transmission.

Okay so the deeper I get into this the more semi-knowledgeable I get. The transmission is running in fail safe mode. The PCM is throwing 6 codes at it including p1000, P1747, P0743, P0713, P0750, P0755. My working theory is the continuous memory codes thrown duing the KOER test are from the old tranny. And that I just need to do a reset to clear the codes and get the computer to relearn and thusly get the tranny to not run in limp mode. Whatcha think billy? Incidentally My dad was billy and my son is billy.

Hi again. Yes you are correct the pcm does not know you changed the trans. Disconnect the neg cable overnite. We used to say for one min, but the memory in these computers can maintain for several hours. If this does not remove the codes remove them with a scanner. Test after removal before driveing. You should have no codes. Drive the truck going from 30 to 60 mph for twenty minutes. And hard accell during shift duration is good for relearn. Retest these will be hard codes that will be there then. These probs are very complicated, but you seem pretty smart I think you will be able to find this prob. Good luck write back anytime billymac
