1997 Ford F150 starting problem

The starter on my truck died. All I was getting was a click from the solenoid and that was it. So I replaced the starter, charged the battery, and went to start it and all I am getting now is very rapid clicking from the solenoid. The engine doesn't even attempt to turn over. Any ideas?
