1997 Ford F150 boo switch location

was testing ash tray light for power and shorted out the 5 amp fuse for dash lights,replaced fuse,now it wont shift out of park and there are no brakelights,all the fuses are good,all outher signels work and the switch on brake peddel checks out for continuity but i didnt check for voltage,i just got done changing the ignishion out and it was working fine i feel like an ass thanks greg

Check the brake switch for power if it has -you probably short circuited the shift interlock control system

on the shift interlock switch ,i am hoping it is that 16 pin plug with that slide switch in between it outherwise you have to pull the steering wheel and the whole column down to get at this actuator,is this true ,and can it be replaced without this much work thanks greg
