The hot engine gauge on my truck rises to the red...hot mark when I drive 45 mph and more. I have checked the reservoir and have to put water in it each day. I am not truck mechanical at all. Any suggestions?

thanks,
Ronny

See my profile. I can give some suggestions:

Make sure your belt is on your water pump (not missing)

Your fan or fan clutch is bad

Your thermostat may be bad

Your lower radiator may be "squishy" (old) and the water pump is sucking it flat, restricting radiator "cooler" water into engine.

Radiator has internal buildup....radiator shop clean/ replace

Can't leave this one out!---Whatever you have in front of the grill---is blocking airflow.

100,000,000 insects are imbedded in the radiator fins!

Go to Advance Auto or Autozone for FREE ASSISTACE......may can direct you to a "REASONABLE and REPUTABLE" radiator/ mechanic SHOP!

Keep me informed!
