Hi!
Am getting vibration when accelerating through gears(5 SPD). Also vibrates when in 4th or 5th when accelerating (whle just driving down the road. Lessens when I let up on gas. Engine does seem to have a miss while idlling. But not very bad. Clutch seems to work fine when shifting as far as grabbing when it is supposed to. Don't know where to start.
Thanks John Hendrickson john-hendrickson@att. Net

If you feel the vibration, more so, in the seat and the floor rather than the steering wheel, check your driveshaft U-joints.

Would the vibration be less when you let up on the gas a little if it had bad u-joints?

Yes, you would notice the vibration more on hard acceleration or de-celeration 'cause of the torque factor. Feathering the throttle allows the driveshaft to somewhat center itself and the vibration won't be quite so noticable. If you have as vibration as you say, you should be able to crawl underneath the truck, with the trans in neutral, and physically "shake" the shaft up and down at the joint.
