Truck stalls at idle, or near idle, speeds. Also surges at cruising highway speeds. Replaced egr valve, pintle position sensor, TPS, Ignition module, Distributor, O2 sensor, MAP sensor, EGR solenoid, PCM(rebuilt) and a couple of vacuum lines(dry rotting). Cheked for other vacuum leaks(none found), Checked timing at Idle with spout disconnected(ok except the timing mark bounces around alot from the stock 10 degrees mark). Checked fuel pressure 2 times(once by me and then at ford also) and its okay. Cleaned fuel system numerous times. Cleaned throttle bore a few times. I am stumped! Can anyone help?

I replaced the valve(with gasket) and tried cleaning the intake bore that it sets on. Sorry I forgot to mention that. I've replaced so many parts I new I would leave out one.

Sure sounds like it could be a vacuum leak.I take it you have replaced the plugs/wires/cap/rotor? Will it idle at all? does it run rough when it does idle or at low rpm?

Yeah it idles, but sometimes rough and somtimes smooth. It runs fairly smooth though upon excelleration. Tuned it up 5,000 miles ago(cap, rotor, wires included). It seems that its idle quality is connected to the wacky movement of the timing mark. With timing lite connected at idle sometimes it will stay fairly steady at 10 to 12 degrees advance, but sometimes it wants to jump around as much as 20 to 25 degrees advance. When it jumps like that is when it idles rough and sometimes stalls.

Haven't really payed much attention to exhaust smoke. Usually trying to keep it from stalling. What are you thinking?

Har dto say just because it is intermittent. Try measuring th eresistance across all of the injectors to see if any are different
