I have a 1994 F150. It starts up like a champ everytime I turn the key, but will idle down and stall if I do not pump the gas to keep it going. Once the motor has warmed to operating temperature there is no problem at all when either idling or driving, no stalling, missing, or sputtering. The problem only seems to persist when first started. I have replaced the IAC sensor and the ECT sensor to no avail. ANy ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Has the check engine light ever come on when it wants to die? If it has , need to find a shop that can scan it to get the code/codes. HAs the minimum idle ever been messed with? (idle screw)

The check engine light does not come on before it dies. I had a technician run a code scan on it it and they said that they got nothing. The idle screw has not been messed with at all to my knowledge. Once the motor is warmed up, even just a little, it does not die or have any idling promblems. It reaches about halfway on the temp gauge about 5 minutes or so into driving it, and maintains the temp so I don't think it is the thermostat sticking but I could be wrong. When first started the motor will idle a bit high and when the idle kicks down it either dies or will overcompensate to stay running and the rpms will seem to go up and down.

Have you checked for vacuum leaks? try carefully spraying around the intake area with carb cleaner to see if the idle changes
