I recently replaced a sticky starter with a new one and now all it will do is click, the battery shows 12.6 volts, cleaned and retightened alll cables, the starter spins fine off the truck but when bolted up to it it will only click, tried bypassing the relay and the same results...Thanks ,Brad

HI there,

If the engine will turn freely by hand. and the starter is the correct one for your car, you may have been sold a defective new starter , it is one thing to spin on the bench but it may be failing under load.
