1994 Ford F150 exhaust

1994 Ford F150 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 175K miles

The passenger side exhaust manifold coupling is broke. The bolts are bad. can I cut off the coupling cover and use exhaust putty to hold it over for a while?
