So I just replaced my water pump and everything is working all right except the needle on the temperature gauge is indicating the engine is running a little hotter than it was before I did the repair. Before the repair the engine temp was never over halfway. Now, the engine temp climbs to above halfway, around 3/4 ish, the thermostat opens and it drops back to just above halfway. It stays there unless I am going uphill and will then climb back up to 3/4ish. The needle doesn't move even when I have the heater on full blast. Should I be worried about damaging my engine?
