I had an idle problem. Replaced the air intake control. Idle got better. Replaced the throttle position sensor. Idle seems to now be perfect. Idles like a champ. Went for a ride. Slow accelerating no worries. Fast accelleration the engine spit and sputtered, engine light came on. Let up on gas peddle, everything went back to normal. Tried it again and had same results.

Is there a chance the tps is bad?
Could I have installed it incorrectly?
Problem lies elsewhere?

You can't put it in wrong. It could be bad. Has the check engine light come on?

Yes and no. See my previous entry. It came on, then went out. It's out presently but I haven't been driving it.

Is there something I have to do with the tps after I install it?

There isn't anything special that needs done. At this point, I have to question the ignition system, crank sensor, coil. If it runs good when you are light on the gas and bad when you push it, it may not be getting a good hot spark that is burning the fuel. Check to see if you are getting a good hot blue snapping spark to the plugs.
