My son stopped at a stop sign with this old pick-up, took off, and the truck wouldn't shift gears and the speedo quit working. My brother is some what inclinded and thought it was electrical. He thought it might be the speed sensor on the transmission or the rear end. I know where the one is on the rear end but not sure on the tranny. I took apart the speedo cable on the transfer case to see if it was broke and all seemed well just dirty so I cleaned it. If you think the problem is the speed sensor on the transmission, is that what I took apart or could you explain where it is else where. The thing I took apart on the transfer case is a small shaft with splines and a round magnet thing that goes in the cable housing? Am I making any sense, sorry. Thankyou
