F150 front wheel hub removal to change brake roto
Brakes problem
1989 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
My truck has manual locking hubs, how do I remove the hubs so that I can change the brake rotor? Will I need special tools to remove the hubs to have access to the brake rotors?

To remove hub, first separate cap assembly from body assembly by removing the six (6) socket head capscrews from the cap assembly and slip apart.
Remove snapring (retainer ring) from the end of the axle shaft.
Remove the lock ring seated in the groove of the wheel hub. The body assembly will now slide out of the wheel hub. If necessary, use an appropriate puller to remove the body assembly.
Install hub in reverse order of removal. Torque socket head capscrews to 30-50 inch lbs. (3.4-5.64 Nm).
Is your F150 a Super Duty edition ? If not then the hub and rotor is usually one assembly and is replaced altogether..
