Engine Performance problem
1989 Ford F150 V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic
Put a rebuilt engine from napa in and now i have trouble with the timing it is supposed to time at 8 or 10 degrees tdc but it has no power at that setting i had to set timing at around 26 degrees to have enough power to pull the vehicle and now fuel economy is awful any ideas what could be wrong i'm scratching my head

when setting the timing are you pulling out the spout connector for the advancement for the ignition timing? is the vehicle warm? is idle set properly?
have you checked the cam timing and the crankshaft timing to make sure they are set properly before you set ignition timing?
