1986 Ford F-150 TRUCK WONT CRANK

I HAVE A FORD F-150/1986 WHEN I TRY TURNING THE KEY THE LIGHTS AND RADIO COMES ON BUT THE TRUCK WONT START I GOT A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND THE TRUCK WONT TURN OVER NOW I GOT A NEW STARTER AND THE TRUCK STILL WONT TURN SO I TAPED THE SOLENOID WITH A SCREW DRIVER AND THE TRUCK STARTED RIGHT UP DO I NEED A STARTER BUTTON AND HOW DO YOU CONECT WIRES FOR THE STARTER BUTTON.

You tapped the solenoid on th efender and it worked? Replace the solenoid. There is a small wire on the noid' if it gets 12 volts when key is in crank position and it wont turn over the solenoid is bad

Just make sure you put back the wires correctly on the starter relay-if you get battery voltage on the S terminal in crank position and nothing coming out of the battery terminal going to the starter-Like Mr. Jack said replace it.

Let me ask you this do you have a starter relay or a solenoid on the starter-What I gave you is for the relay not for the solenoid on the starter
