1986 Ford F150 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

i just put in a new starter and starter celinoid and a new batt when i hook up the batt it trys to start on its own i have even pulled the red ignition pulg but it still trys to start its self i also get arcing out when i hook up the batt i hooked it up wire for wire from old to new please help i need my truck for work thanks guys
