1983 Ford F150 My truck has been choking itself out,

and yesterday on my way to work it died going over a bridge and i was able to coast off the bridge and get off the road well it would start and die start it giving it gas it would start and die revving the engine while i stared it it would start and die i was figuring it could be the carb or the fuel pump what do yall think. thanks for your time .

i start by replacing the fuel filter,is your carburetor has a electric choke? if truck hard to start in mornings (or cold) adjust the carburetor choke , if above dont help replace the fuel pump. let us know the update so somebody else learns from it.
