Hey guys. Bought an old f150 4x4 for use around the farm. over 100k miles. drove it home from the seller and the next day couldnt get it started. cranks over...getting gas in the carb. History....probably used in 4x4 racing. bill elliot and his crew worked on the engine. put on aluminum head switched out holley 2 and put on a 4. has a 351 clevland. all emission devices gone. no vacumn hoses. no breather cover(will get one soon) just stripped to bare essentials. did notice that there is not a  wire going to the spot on the solenoid where the coil wire should go. but it did run just like this on the way home.any thoughts? god bless and thanks.

Do you have 12DC wire to coil with ignition switch "on" and coil wire to Distributor cap?
Check spark plug wire #1 using a timing light ...point at timing mark on harmonic balancer and check if light fires...
