I have a Ford Explorer 1999 it has 183346 miles on it. I turned on my low four wheel drive on sunday March 12,2006 and now it won't turn off. I've tried putting it in neutral and switching it and turning off my car and it still will not turn off. Is there anything I can do to make it turn off? I don't have a(n) opporators manual for my car and it doesn't help that I dont know anything about cars. If there is anything I can do please let me know asap. Thank you.

The best thing I can tell you to do is block your wheels put the truck in neutral put hte 4x4 slector in auto go under the truck with a small hammer and very lighty tap on the motor at the back of the tranfercase. DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY with the hammer. At times they get stuck if there not used a lot. If you strike it too hard you may damage the motor. The only other cause is you may hve burned up a gem moduel which controles a lot of the electrial fuctions on this truck. But do that first if the light goes out the you can go back to park if you want ingage and disengage several time to get every thing loosened up again hope this helps BE SAFE (NOS )
