I am hearing a ticking noise that sounds like it is coming from my heater/ac fan. The ticking is coming from the passenger side behind the glove box. It gets louder when I tun the fan up and quieter when I turn the fan down. To me it sounds like something is stuck in there and the fan is hitting it. If this is what is wrong, can you tell me how I can get it out? The sound is driving me NUTS.

Hi: There could be something in there or the fan motor may be going bad. This will require a little work to remove the motor to check and see where the noise is coming from. Disconnect the battery ground cable. If necessary, remove the air cleaner assembly. Remove the speed control servo. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the bolt. Position the speed control servo aside. Remove the screws and nuts for the coolant/washer reservoir. Move the coolant/washer reservoir aside. Disconnect the vent hose. Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the four screws. Vent hose, electrical connector, screws, and blower motor. Here is a picture of what you are trying to remove from under the hood mounted on the firewall on the passanger side. Take your time and make sure not to break or disconnect anything.
