1994 Ford Explorer 190000 miles

I am installing a new radio. I have found the, pwr, grd, swt. Gnd. And are hooked up. I found a small (looks like a remote cd plug, 8 very small wires) rectangle plug. It was the only other wire that went into the old stock radio. I tryed to hook my new radio speaker wires up to any of the 8 with no response. So, Where are the car's speaker wires? I have been wrenching for years but this is a new one for me!

Thanks,
Skid

Hi there,

For a far better quality sound run new speaker wires, this may sound a pain, but it will be well worth the effort, it will not take that long, you can get good quality twin core speaker wires, make sure the speaker polarity is correct and you will not be disappointed.

The wire you refered to is under the rocker panel trim pass side and goes to an amp from factory. Wiresto speakers com back from amp in same channels under rocker panels. An adapter is available online to plug into the amp cord, or simply got to junkyard and cut one from an exploder with the stock sound system
