1994 Ford Explorer question about my brakes

I just notice that when I stop sometimes My brakes slid for a second then it stop.It dont happen alot it just happens sometimes>What could be somethings that wrong?

When I hit the brakes they start to stop but before they stop all the way the would they brakes would make a hissing noise it feel like I,m driving on a wet surface.

is the braking performance or it stop just the same only with a weird noise?
