Engine Mechanical problem
1994 Ford Explorer 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 200k miles

V. intermittently my 94 explorer fails to start, even tho' it cranks over fine. Also, it may start, but either dies within a few seconds or idles v. rough for a few seconds, then no way will it start, except if I wait at least a few hours. This happens either hot or cold, winter or summer, and v. intermittently(every few months or so). Maintenance is up to date, and no other problems seem to exist, and no codes show up. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Driving my mechanic and I crazy.

ISSUE
An intermittent no crank or no start condition may be caused by the anti-theft module. A new anti-theft module featuring additional diagnostic capabilities is now available for service. It has the ability to diagnose shorts in the door disarm circuit and the trunk lock cylinder circuit.

Thanx much BMRFIXIT! May I ask where and what is the anti-theft module? Not sure I even have one. Also, dash lights are normal with key on, ck. engine light off if running, and can always hear fuel pump kick on w/ ignition switch on.
