will a 91 ford exlporer alt, work for a 94 ford explorer alt.

It should fit. But you may not get the correct charge from the alternator. The 1994 model has 2 amperage types of alternator fitted the 1991 has a 95 amp output. The 1994 has 95 amp output or a 130 amp output fitted?
