The 4 wheel drive has been working just fine until recently. The car is equipped with push button 4 wheel drive. I was having trouble with it engaging when I pushed the button on the dash for 4 wheel drive. I purchased new lock out hubs which allow me to manually lock the hubs in when I want 4 wheel drive. They work perfectly. Now all of a sudden I cannot get the car to go into 4 wheel drive. Several people seem to think there is a sensor problem but I do not know where to look for that. Someone else said there is a short somewhere. Can you give me a clue? Thanks

when you push the button what happens? i find mostly it is the motor on the transfer case itself that is bad not allowing transfer case to actually shift from 2 to 4. they have just come out with a aftermarket motor for under 100 bucks so you dont have to spend the 450 the dealer wants. try tapping the motor on the transfer case with a hammer when someone else pressed it into 4wd and see if it shifts, if it does then replace motor

If it doesnt work after hitting on it,disconnect motor and apply 12V and ground on the large orange and yellow wires going to motor.Reverse power and ground a few times to run motor back and forth.Usually works, contacts inside motor get corroded.
