I'm looking at upgrading from a 1997 expedition to 2005 expedition. I've got new tires [not wheels] on the 1997, they are LT2857017R. The 2005 calls for and has P2657017R on now. Can I swap the LT285's to the 2005. Also should'nt the 2005 already have LT'S on it.

First, please understand that we recommend only what the manufacturer recommends. If that is an optional size, then great. However, if not, I can't recommend it. I will tell you it will fit the rim and shouldn't be a problem. In reality, there isn't much difference. As far as the LT rating, the vehicle is still considered a passanger vehicle and not a truck. However, I own one and the upgrade to the LT is a good choice. It has a heaver sidewall and will last longer on the truck.

Again, the tires shouldn't be a problem, but I can't make that recommendation. Just make sure they don't rub. I hope you understand.

If you have other questions, let me know.

Joe
