When cranking up my vehicle whether it be morning or afternoon, there is a rattling sound I hear under the hood. It sounds as though something is loose. It only happens when you are cranking the car upand it is sitting there running. Also, I want to purchase a 1995 Honda for $800.00 and the seller is stating that it needs an oil seal. Is this very expensive.

Without seeing the vehicle, it is rather difficult to diagnose a noise problem. We can only depend on the customer's description. Your next free morning, open the hood, have an assistant start the vehicle, and you check under the hood and under the car to find out where the rattle is coming from. If I am to guess, I suspect your heat shield to the exhaust pipe under the car.

As for your other question, which model of Honda and which engine does it have. Ask the seller which oil seal he is referring to. You have front main seal, rear main seal, camshaft seal, distributor seal. These are all oil seals, not to mention gaskets...
