1998 Ford Expedition reverse gear

Every time I use reverse on my car, it works but it takes a few seconds to engage.
I was thinking on replacing the transmittion filter and fluid may solve the problem, but I would like to have a professional opinion about it.

So if you guys can send me any thoughts about this situation I will be so thankful.

With any transmission problem, one starts with the fluid and filter. It may be that the filter is clogging up or low fluid. Check the dipstick and see if it smells burnt. If it does then I would definattly change the fluid.
