1998 Ford Expedition Brakes do not respond

when I make a u-turn or turn right to get into a parking space my brakes do not respond I have to step several tmes in order to stop, but when I'm driving stright and I brake on a light or stop it brakes normal, my abs light is on also, please help me.

If I had to guess, based on your description, I would say you have a bad wire going to one of the front ABS sensors. When you turn, it disconnects and causes the ABS to actuate. Thus, you have to push really hard on the brakes. Check that and let me know what you find.
