I have a 97 ford expedition, with a locked engine. I bought a 99 ford expedition engine to replace it because I was told it would easily fit in it. However, I am now starting to run into some problems lining the new engine up. What exactly needs to be swapped out to make the 99 engine fit in correctly? Do I need an engine swap kit?

We always recommend using a direct fit because there always seems to be a problem when you change years. I

First, is it the same size engine?

Yes both engines are 4.6L 8 bolt windsor. The only difference is the years. I began trying to swap the intake manifold with sensors but the bolts aren't lining up. Any suggestions?
