hi, my sister owns a 2000 ford escort w/ close to 100,000 miles. the problem is that at the current moment the car doesn't run after having sat for a week. there is no power at all. the car wont turn over and there is no power at all in the cabin. we have bought a new battery thinking that the other one could be dead, but that hasn't helped. could this be a fuse or ground wire?

You need to check all your fusible links some of them could be in the power distribution box and starter relay, and also could be at the starter-it has to go thru the links before it goes inside the cabin.
