Symptom - misfire cylinder 2 and 3 read by OBDII code reader.

1997 Ford Escort LX 2.0L modified - 144k miles. full top end PnP, 50% UDP, NO2(not running until problem solved), MSD DIS coilpack, 19lb/hr accell inj's, Headers and hiflow cat, powered by an Optima group 34 batt(1175/990)... also running a dual POT's mod. Iridium plugs , new wires.....

.

this problem has been a thorn in my side for months now. the car idles off at times, slightly lower then norm, but recovers quickly. the POT's seems to overcome any misfire by raising the idle as it does, but once switched off, the idle falls to norms and a MIL kicks on. a normal am start is 1 stall and then normal idle on the second attempt. with POT's on, easy startup first attempt. compression is normal varying only 5 lbs per cylinder.

The OBD II code is a P0300 series code, random/multiple and/or cyl 2 - cyl 3 misfire

(no oil in coolant- no coolant in oil) No blown head gasket.

Im lost, Ive replaced almost every sensor and sending unit on the engine in the last 4 yrs. Its a bracket car/ and a VERY fun daily driver :) , and I need to get this solved before I dare chance an NOS shot!!

final question, am I lean on this setup?

My 1997 escort lx used to misfire. I would have cylinder 3 misfire randomly for about an hour or two and and given moment.
It would happen maybe once a month
I had no modifications to the car at this point besides plugs and 8mm wires that i put on when i got the car
it stopped doing this on its own, I put a cold air intake on it and nothing else went wrong untill i blew the tranny i think, i have a question posted with the details.

I also have a question for you.
I have been trying to find many custom parts online, and i can not seem to find exhaust headers anywhere?
The ones you have on there are pretty nice?
can you tell me where you got them?
or if your up to selling them to me?
I just started to tear the car apart to rebuild the engine and trans
soo i want to rebuild the exhaust myself, and i have no idea how to get nice headers
thank you
