Ok Thanks Justanold ! Ihad 2 wrestle the alternator out. Is there an easy way to get it back in and the belt back on? Seems like it is going 2 b a real pain. I was hoping it would come out easier so I would be able to just reverse the process but I can't c how to get the belt on and the bolts lined up in an obvious way. Some experienced insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can check if your alternator is charging by looking at the battery voltage. 12.0V - 12.5V (Volts )with the engine off is normal. It should go up to 14.0V to 14.5V with the engine idling which means your battery is being charged.
