Sometimes when I shut my car off and get out to walk away I notice that my break lights are still on. If I tap on the break pedal they shut off. It doesn't happen all of the time and I have been trying to remember to just tap the break before I get out. But I sometimes forget and my battery is run down by the next morning. Dad said to spray WD40 on the break pedal but I'm not sure that will do the trick. Any help is appreciated!

The brake pedal is hinged at the top of it. Follow the bar up to the top and you will see where it is hinged from. This is where you can spray a little oil if the pedal is not coming up all the way. If this doesn't work then the spring make be weak/broken or the brake switch may need to be adjusted.
