I have this car and it has been in my family for about 7 years now give or take a few months. It became stationary after we moved and has remained dormant for the majority of 6 years. There have been kittens living in the engine, and before that the belt needed to be replaced, what is the estimated cost of fixing this?

Hi there,

Once you have found a new home for the moggies, drain the oil and replace the oil filter, remove the spark plugs and add a small amount of oil to each cylinder, with a fully charged battery and the engine full of fresh oil, crank it over until you get an indication of oil pressure in the system, replace the fuel & air filter, drain tank if possible or add some fuel system conditioner, replace spark plugs check the coolant, and if all is good it should start.

Not sure if they're exact, but I have a 2002 and the belt cost around $40 at Advance Auto Parts. I had to remove the passenger wheel, and remove a panel in the fender well to get the belt on. I would also do what the technician said as well especially if it has set up for that long. Hope this helps.
