I parked my car and about one hour later went to leave and it is stuck in park. I checked to see if the break lights were working as it could have been a fuse but they are on. Do you have an idea what it could be or if I can disconnect the cable under to get it out of park and how i can do this? Please help and appreciate all you can to help. Thanks. It only has 28,000 miles on it and was wondering if it could have snapped or froze with cold weather?

Check your other fuses because it's an electric solonoid that prevents shifting out of park unless you step on the brake. Doesn't your car have a little plastic plug you can pry out next to the shifter handle so you can operate the lockout manually?
