Engine Cooling problem
1999 Ford Escort 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual

As I was driving to work my car starting making the noise such as water boiling or such... my gauge said not running hot, I pulled over and no smoke so I took it 1/4 mile to my mother house. Some one said it is the freeze plug. What causes freeze plug to break down?
I thought the freeze plug was for too hot or frozen.
If it is freeze plug, then did I mess up my heads or rocker arms or what ever it is that mess up?

Hi dalespets and TY for the donation

If the freeze plug goes you will lose all your coolant and its gonna be very obvious leaking.

Get the cooling system checked out-the way you describe the problem sounds like you're overheating if so get it block and pressure tested
