When the clutch is depressed I hear ratling in and when I stop in first or second it seems like the car is hesitating. I am thinking it is the clutch itself and is it a possible do it yourself job?

Can you describe the noise you hear? Does it sound like a bad bearing? Do you only hear it when the clutch is pushed,

Yes only when the clutch is pushed...otherwise it runs fine.

I would have to say it is a throw out bearing that is bad. When you depress the clutch, the bearing engaged.
