When I got into the car today, I noticed a blue rubber piece that was broken on the floor near the brake pedal. When I got home, I noticed that the brake lights were on and only went off when I lifted the brake pedal with some force. I went online and read about the brake light switch and some sort of gasket--I'm almost sure this is what I saw. I have to take the car in to my mechanic on Monday, but meanwhile, I am on call tomorrow for my job. Is it safe to drive? I'm sure that my battery will be dead tomorrow morning, but I have a new powerpack, so hopefully it will recharge the vehicle. Is the gasket and or the brake light switch a big deal to fix?
